Fashion and Cocktails

Finally, after Shanon Pamaong’s visit to Sweden last June and weeks of tireless planning and meetings, the first Passion for Fashion presentation was launched at the Tarras-Wahlberg residence at Strandvägen Stockholm.

Almost 60 guests enjoyed the mini fashion show while sipping champagne and savoring the delectable mini spring rolls.

Guests included key persons within business and prominent members of the society, all friends of our host that evening. To mention a few, present also was Mr. Kai Hammerich, Director of ISA (Invest in Sweden Agency) who came to the event with his wife Loredana, Ann Schierenbeck of Drottningholms Slott, Bo och Aku Tarras-Wahlberg and Gracita Tolentino Sieber of the Diplomat Women’s club.

The Thai Airways manager for Scandinavia arrived with his wife and was all praises with the elegance and simplicity of the gowns.

Philippine Ambassador to Sweden Maria Zeneida Collinson and Philippine Department of Trade & Industry’s Mary Borromeo Hedfors were among the guests, pleased and awed by the display of Shanon Pamaong’s creations which featured not only mixed fabrics gowns but also outfits made of Philippine natural fiber Abel Iloco, jusi (banana fiber) and piña (pineapple fiber).

The presentation was opened with welcome remarks and toast by our sponsor. It was immediately followed by a CD presentation of the Swedish television (SVT) news clip on Philippine fibers and the Fashion Institute of the Philippines.

The mini fashion show was no doubt the highlight of the evening. Positive reactions and curiosity on Philippine natural fibers were beyond our expectations.

The warm response inspired us to hold two more fashion & cocktail presentations on Sept 27 and to start working on the much awaited Shanon Pamaong Fashion show in Stockholm March 2009.
