Agnes Pedrosa Mårelid (left in picture) Asian roots planted firmly on the ground Dedicates time for the Asian community by actively participating in events, Asian functions and cause-oriented programs. A devoted member of FILIPINA™®, a Filipino organization based in Uppsala and was an avid supporter of the Asian Culture Society, organizer of the Stockholm Asian festival, as a board member and treasurer. A marketing graduate from De La Salle University in Manila, Philippines, Agnes moved to Sweden 10 years ago. At present, she juggles family, Asian events, TV news casting and her calling in the Asian community. Aspires to be in events and fashion business with Merose Brual Leo. Her out of the box ideas are evident in the contribution she has marked indelibly in her previous work experiences within the telecommunications, advertising, biotech and airline industries. And as she believes that one must constantly evolve, Agnes has relentlessly pursued her love for design by finishing a degree in Graphic Design at Stockholm University in 2006. Equipped and armed with marketing experience, a very open and broad-minded outlook in life and a precarious eye for detail, she has found a profound belonging to the world of event management with Merose Brual, her longtime best friend and collaborator. And as we day by day, weave our dreams and passion in life, her love for journalism materialized in time as she currently works as ABS-CBN TV correspondent for Europe News Bureau. Agnes enjoys quiet time with the family, countryside living, golf, kickboxing and traveling.

Merose Brual Leo (right in picture) An epitome of an Asian dragon Born and raised in Manila, Philippines on the year of the dragon, born a leader. Leadership skills shines through as a fervent and dedicated co-founder and former Chairman of the FILIPINA™® organization (1997-2005), a cause oriented group founded 13 years ago in Uppsala. An active leader in the Asian community as well as the former Vice Chairman of the Asian Culture Society (organizer of the Stockholm Asian Festival), Merose is full of energy and aspirations to create a more united Asian community in Sweden. A BSHE graduate of 1984 from St. Paul College Manila, Merose moved to Sweden 20 years ago. Efficient, well mannered and very ambitious, Merose spent half year in London studying airline business and had internship at the Iberia main office in London. In Sweden, she has been employed by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Philippine Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines System. At present, working on the possibility of building a company that will showcase the best of Asia – its tradition, people and culture. Dreams of opening her own fashion business in Sweden. Loves organizing events, fashion, reading mystery and crime novels, gardening, interior design, and enjoys cooking Asian delicacies. On lazy days, just lounge on the sofa watching TV or long walks in the forest. Plays racket ball, table tennis and interested in pistol shooting. She’s most happy and contented in the company of her family Nicky and 2 year old son Ryan Xander, best friend Agnes, champagne, her Bichon Bolognese dog Kenzia, and cat Pepper.
